Originally from Port Townsend, Washington, Chris Brady spent the past decade exploring the American West and practicing his craft as a builder. Raised beside the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Chris grew up in a family of talented builders, beginning with his father who operated a softwoods mill, supplying the finest Northwest timbers to the wooden boat industry. Chris worked at the mill from a young age, where he learned to read wood for species, strength, quality and purpose. As an artist, wood has been his medium. As a craftsman, beauty and durability have been his goals.
Chris’s work spans the West, a landscape that has been his inspiration. Chris has stamped his mark across the Puget Sound region, where he has been building indoor and outdoor spaces for friends and neighbors since 2003. He has specialized in interior finish work and custom outdoor additions, but is skilled in all phases of construction. In 2011-2012, Chris worked as a timberwright for a leading timberframe construction outfit in southwest Montana, where he learned the historic craft of traditional joinery and roundpole construction from leaders in the field. Chris has worked with clients on properties from the Yellowstone Basin to Northern California, from the Pacific Coast rainforest to the desert of Utah. In every location, his work reflects the character of the place and the clients with whom he works.
As a builder, Chris values integrity in both product and process. He is attentive and swift, while conscientious of each client’s needs and investment. Chris enjoys working with clients to realize their visions effectively and affordably. Chris Brady Custom will specialize in eco-friendly remodel, custom cabins, tiny homes and gypsy wagons, providing low-cost, low-footprint residential options for the sustainable human future.
Now dwelling in Eugene, Oregon, Chris launched his limited liability corporation, Chris Brady Custom, in 2015. He is excited to bring his skills and vision to the south Willamette Valley, and beyond. He looks forward to working with you on your next project.
